Problem

Landscaping sites tend to look like every other trade site: a stock lawn photo, a service list, a contact form. But a patio or retaining wall is a big, visual, expensive decision, and homeowners judge a crew by what it has already built. 9 Yards needed a site that felt as premium as its stonework, put real jobs in front of visitors immediately, and turned interest into a quote request without making anyone hunt for a form.

Process

1 / 4

A hero with a video behind it

A slow aerial video of finished Halifax streets plays behind the hero, so the first thing a visitor sees is real work instead of a stock photo. A dark overlay keeps the serif headline readable, with 100+ Grounds Transformed in white and green italic. One outlined button asks for a quote and a quieter link points to the work.

On mobile

On a phone the dark look carries over intact. The hero keeps the video, the headline and the quote button, and a Call Now and Get a Quote bar stays pinned to the bottom of the screen so both actions are always in reach. The portfolio becomes a swipeable strip with a peek of the next project, each service opens as a full screen sheet with a Back button and its own checklist, and the quote form is a tall sheet that scrolls one field at a time.

1. Land on the hero2. Swipe the portfolio3. Open a service4. Ask for a quote

Color palette

A near-black canvas so the stone and greenery in the photos do the talking, with moss green taken from the logo and a warm orange as the secondary accent.

Outcome

The site gives 9 Yards a front door that matches its stonework. Real jobs lead every section, the dark palette lets the photography carry the pitch, and a quote request is one tap away on every screen, from the hero button to the pinned mobile bar.
